Free Download TTA frontend 1.4

TTA frontend is a GUI for TTA. TTA is a free, open source (GNU), multi platform, lossless audio compressor. It's a console program. Many Windows users are used to grafical programs and don't like to work in the console. That's why I made TTA frontend. The frontend only makes a batch file for ttaenc.exe and executes it. You need the TTA compressor (ttaenc.exe) to do the actual encoding/decoding and Tag (by Case) if you want to tag your files.

Installtion
1. Unzip into the directory where you keep ttaenc.exe
2. win2dos.exe is not needed when using Windows 2000 or XP.
3. If you want to add tags to the encoded files, Tag.exe and Tag.cfg need to be in the same directory as the frontend (or in the search path). Get Tag here: members.home.nl/w.speek/download/Tag.zip
4. Run TTA_frontend.exe

USAGE
1. Encoding
- Drag and drop wave files from Windows Explorer into the TTA frontend file list or press the "Add files" button and put files on the list with the "Open" dialog.
- Select the TTA version you are using.
- Select the compression level you would like to use.
- Optional: if you would like to continue working on the PC while compressing the files, it's a good idea to check "Idle priority". Compressing might take a little longer, but the program you use for your work will feel more responsive.
- Optional: select an output directory.
- Press "Encode"
- Note that all that TTA frontend does is create and launch a batch file (go.bat). This is done on the moment you press the Encode button. So after that you can safely exit TTA frontend.

2 Tag configuration
Tags are derived from the filename of the encoded file. Auto detection of the filename scheme will work fine in most cases. If it doesn't work for you, you can enter your own 'custom' filename scheme. Note that it should be the filename scheme of the encoded files! The scheme is constructed using the following parameters (these parameters can also be found in the tooltip of the textbox where they must be entered):
T = title
A = artist
L = album
Y = year
C = comment
N = track number
G = genre
X = disregard

3. Decoding
- Drag and drop TTA files (.tta) from Windows Explorer into the TTA frontend file list or press the "Add files" button and put files on the list with the "Open" dialog.
- Select the TTA version you are using.
- Optional: select an output directory.
- Press "Decode"

4. Testing (works only with ttaenc 3.1 or newer and with TTA 3.x files)
- Drag and drop TTA files (.tta) from Windows Explorer into the TTA frontend file list or press the "Add files" button and put files on the list with the "Open" dialog.
- Press "Test"
