GNUMed is a free, liberated open source Electronic Medical Record software in multiple languages to assist and improve longitudinal care (specifically in ambulatory settings, i.e. multi-professional practices and clinics).
It is made available at no charge and is capable of running on GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. It is developed by a handful of medical doctors and programmers from all over the world.

It can be useful to anyone documenting the health of patients including, but not limited to, doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, acupuncturists, nurses, psychologists.

The software is divided into client and backend softwares, as below. Notice of release candidates are posted only on the developer email list. New releases proper (i.e. official releases, suitable for production use) are earliest available as Any Linux/Unix tarballs, which are intended for user-local (not system-wide) usage. Debian deb packages for gnumed-client often enter the 'unstable' distro within about a week, and propagate into 'testing' 10 days later. Packages for other distros vary. Note also that GNUmed-client versions 0.3x depend on python-wxgtk2.8
