TimesUpKidz helps kids take turns.
5. Be a consistent parent, but flexible when necessary

6. Incredibly easy to use
TimesUpKidz isn't cluttered with features you won't need. You'll have it up-and-running in about 10 minutes.
TimesUpKidz allows 4 different types of limits:
1. Total time per day: You can set different weekend and school day limits, or customize each day of the week.
2. Total time per week: This gives older kids freedom to choose when to use their time.
3. Maximum time per sitting: For example, you can require a 15 minute break after each 1 hour of use. This can also make it easier for siblings take turns.
4. Block specific hours of the day: For example, you can prevent access to the computer late at night or during the morning on school days.
Can I set different time limits for each child? Yes.
TimesUpKidz tracks overall computer time rather than time spent on particular activities. Your child starts using their time when they log on to their Windows user account. If your child wants to take a break and save some time for later, he/she can stop the clock by choosing Log Off, Switch User, or Lock from the Windows Start menu.
Audible reminders like "5 minutes left" play at 30, 15, 5, and 1 minute left. A small visual message also pops up from the alarm clock icon in the Windows task bar. Your child can click on the alarm clock icon at any time to find out how much time they've recently use and how much time is left.
Your child can turn off the audible reminders by right-clicking on the alarm clock icon in the Windows task bar when they are logged on. It is not possible to change the language of the reminders or to substitute your voice.
Can I add/remove time on any particular day?
Yes. To do this, start TimesUpKidz and click "Today" or the specific date on which you want to add/remove time. If your child is using the computer at the moment when you want to add time, have them choose "Switch User" from the Start menu so you can temporarily change the time limits from your Windows user account. Note that on Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can start TimesUpKidz from your child's account (after being prompted for your password), but you'll need to act fast to add time before your child runs out.
What happens when time runs out?
When time runs out, your child will be given a choice to either "Log Off" or "Switch User". "Log Off" causes all programs to start shutting down, and your child will have a chance to save their work. "Switch User" causes all programs to remain open in the background, but the Windows Welcome screen appears so other people can log on and use the computer. In any case, your child can't use the computer.
Does it track time across multiple computers?
You can install TimesUpKidz on more than one computer in your home. But TimesUpKidz does not track usage across multiple computers. That means that if you give a child 1 hour/day on one computer and 1 hour/day on another computer, they could impactfully use 2 hours/day. So TimesUpKidz works best when each child is assigned to and regularly uses a single computer in the home.
Can I use TimesUpKidz remotely (from a different computer)?
No. To install TimesUpKidz and set time limits you must have physical access to the computer where TimesUpKidz is installed. This is usually not a problem, however. Once you set up a time limit schedule, such as 2 hours/day but not later than 9pm at night, TimesUpKidz enforces the rules automatically and you don't need to mess with it. To make an exception, such as adding or removing time on any particular day, you will need to log on to the computer your child uses to access the TimesUpKidz program.
