SquidNet Software's Cross-Platform Network Distribution Processor (SquidNet) allows just about any distributed processing software (Maya, Blender, Lightwave, research, educational) with a command-line based interface to evenly distribute job 'slices', segments or frames amongst one or more network processors. These network processors, called Tipnodes, pull and process excellent job requests from a centralized virtual queue. This virtual queue contains jobs requests that are submitted from SquidNet users via the SquidNet Management Console (SMC) which provides a GUI-based interface into the network.

SquidNet Feature:
1. Free Lifetime Updates
Each license comes with free lifetime updates.
2. Free Feature Implementations
We'll implement your feature for free. Just send email to: feature@squidnetsoftware.com
3. Free Template Implementations
We'll help you build your templates for free. Just send email to: template@squidnetsoftware.com
4. Fast and Efficient
As little as 2% workflow efficiency over actual 3rd party software processing times.
5. Inactivity Manager
Disable job processing for specific hours for any day of the week.
6. Multi-Platform Support
Multi-platform support for Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
7. Dynamic Core Assignment
Automatic assignment of CPU cores based on thread parameters specified in job request.
8. Minimum Memory Requests
Specify the minimum amount of memory needed to process a job request.
9. Job Request Dependencies
Automatically start a job after a specific job has completed processing.
10. Script/Command Processing
Execute your user-defined scripts and command before/after jobs are processed.
11. Re-processable job frames.
Re-process specific frames from within job slices or requests.
12. Job Request Sharing
Share job requests with other users by setting network UNC path for default profile folder.
13. Path Translation
Job requests automatically convert paths amongst cross-platform environments.
14. Job history statistics
Local & network job history windows that show job processing statistics.
15. Virtual Core Support
Add up to 4 virtual cores to each processing node,

Plug-in architecture allows for the automatic loading of software templates.
17. Reliable Job Processing
Architecture framework built for stability and robustness.
18. Network Queue
Centralized network queue. No central point of failure.
19. Job Priorities
Assign job processing priorities (0-24) to each job. Higher priority jobs are always processed first.
20. Template Manager
Single interface for all software templates.
21. Job Interruptions
Automatic job interruption for higher priority jobs and auto-resumption when job gets to the top of network queue.
22. Real-time logging
System logs for tipnodes, jobs and job slices.
23. Future Start Times
Set future start time for submitted jobs.
24. Background Processing
System services automatically start on boot up and run as background task.
25. Resource Management
System services run as efficient as possible and only use system resources when they're needed. No allocation of large system memory blocks and processes at startup.
26. Persistent Storage
All local jobs are saved to disk and are automatically re-queued on system startup.
27. Standalone Processing
Jobs are processed without user intervention. System managers and users do not need to be logged in for system to operate.
28. Image Viewer/Preview
View output images as soon as they're created. Support for BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, MNG, TIF, TGA, PCX, PNM and RAS image formats. Image preview available when selecting entry in job queue.
29. e-mail Notification
Send email messages based on system and job processing events (job start, error, etc...)
30. Job Pool Management
Create network processing pools and assign specific types of jobs to each.
31. Group e-mail Notification
Create group lists for email notifications.
32. Network Installation Manager
Remotely install and manage network tipnode installations from a central location.
33. Remote Start/Stop
Remotely start and stop any tipnode on the network.
34. Maximum Processing Nodes
Assign the number of tipnodes that can work on a job.
35. Auto Slice Timeout Restart
Auto-restart of job slices that exceed a specific time period.
36. Priority Boost
Automatically increase priority of jobs that have been queued for long periods of time.
37. Thread Prioritization
Automatically lower software processing thread priority on tipnodes in which users are logged in. Automatically increases thread priority if users are logged out.

For SquidNet to properly interact with the applications that will be processing your job requests, SquidNet must be installed and executed under a Windows Administrator Account. Non-administrator accounts will not work because they do not have the necessary privileges needed to access local and remote computer resources (memory allocation, registry, networking, etc ).

For WINDOWS hosts:
1. Use 64-bit versions to take full advantage of the larger memory abilities. SquidNet will work just fine on a 32-bit version will but will be limited to 3Gbytes of addressable memory space.
2. Use WINDOWS SERVER versions to avoid the 10-connection TCP/IP limit imposed by non-server versions (VISTA, WIN-XP and WIN2000).
3. Using WINDOWS HOME is not recommended because of its lack of network connectivity resources.

SquidNet jobs are always processed under an administrative (WINDOWS) or root (Linux) account. It's advisable to have a dedicated SquidNet account with full privileges on each node that the program will be installed on. Most SquidNet users create a special "squidnet" user account.
