8 extremely useful reports that help you remove unwanted stuff and get more disk space:
1. Folder Sizes Report: Scan any disk location, even on a network, to find those space-hogging folders. Includes a Pie Chart too.
2. File Types Report: See space taken up by various file types, for example, all your JPG photo files.
3. Folders & Files Report: See folders, subfolders and files together in a single hierarchial list with their sizes and numbers.
4. Unused Files Report: See files unused in so many days (not available on Windows Vista as it doesn't support this feature)
5. Only Files Report, innovative: See all the files, including those in subfolders, in a single list thus making it possible to do some interesting things like locating the latest created file or the largest file.
6. Only Folders: Same as above but for folders only.
7. Active Folders: Another innovation, see active folders in terms of files modified in so many days.
8. Owners Report: See all the files grouped by owners (available only in the 5-user edition)

Seven different reports

Old report: There is another report "Unused files" that is discontinued on Windows Vista. Although, ShowSize can display this report on Windows XP or earlier with a caution note, we advise that you don't use this report, especially if you have any disk locations shared with Windows Vista.
Direct UNC path scanning

You can directly type a network path name in the address box of ShowSize to directly scan that network path. No need to assign a drive letter. Example, "\\Computer2\My Documents"
Command line operation

Lots of strong command line switches to automate the use of ShowSize from a batch file.
Export to CSV format

Save a report to CSV format so that you can import it in a spreadsheet or database to do your own analysis.

Some Unique Features
Saving and Sharing of Reports:
(*** This feature is only available in 5-user-licenses or better of ShowSize, not in PE)
You can save a ShowSize report by using the menu Tools--Save Report. Other users can view such a report by opening it with the menu Tools--View Report. A report can be viewed this way even on a system where that drive location is not present.
The following picture shows a report being viewed. This looks quite the same as a live report except that the left pane is not there. Also, you CAN NOT do any LIVE operations on the files or folders of a report being viewed. For example, you can not open those folders in explorer, start a command prompt on them, delete folders and files, etc. Other than that, all the report viewing features, printing options and filters work on the saved report.

New, redesigned scanning, reporting and filtering engine:
New design ensures that we can easily add new reports in future based on your suggestions.
Elimination of System and Hidden items now does not require a rescan but just a change in the filters.
Symbolic link skipping is now supported.
Customizable color features have been added to identify System/Hidden items, symbolic links and to test filtered items.

New Find Names feature:
Searching for a file or folder name in any report is now very handy. Clicking on a Find Names tab on the right opens a search pane where you can enter the characters to search for in the name. It fill ups all the names found in the list. Click on any name, and it positions to that item on the main report.

Starting a command prompt:
You can right-click on the report and start a command prompt or administrator command prompt (Vista) on the selected folder or the containing folder of the selected file.

Auto refresh:
The Auto Refresh feature allows you to leave a ShowSize window on for a long time, rescanning or refreshing automatically in a preset interval. The idea is that without any intervention, you get to see the latest reports on a disk location. The auto refresh stops as soon as you do any operation on that window. So if you don't want to disturb it, start another ShowSize to do your operations while leaving the Auto-refresh copy of ShowSize running.

Designed for speed: The program directly scans a given folder and there are even features to do away with the left pane for slow network drives. Moreover, it uses its own cache when you drill down the folders in the same report. The virtual listing technology in ShowSize can list millions of items making it possible to produce the Only Files report described above. Ordinary program would choke on such a list.
