Semagic is a windows client software for weblogs based on LiveJournal engine. A LiveJournal client to help you with your work.

Semagic can perform spellchecking either via MS Word or using internal spellchecker which is based on MySpell library. Spellchecking via MS Word was initially provided as a temporary solution and turned out to be not enough reliable (you can see results of this poll) so it is better to use internal spellchecker. You should download and install dictionaries, go to Options, select "MySpell" and specify .dic and .aff file names (both files are required: affix is used to generate derivatives from the base dictionary and significantly increases the total number of words).

A reminder how to post youtube videos with Semagic:
copy URL to youtube video to clipboard and press button (with disk) on the toolbar in Semagic. This will add lj-template tags around video link. For other video sites, find <object code, copy it to clipboard and press the mentioned button. This will add lj-embed tags. As far as I know, lj-template tag (automatic generation of embed code) works only for youtube. Embed code for youtube also works but lj-template allows you to manually edit the links later.

General reminder how to use Semagic with several accounts. If you have accounts with different usernames: type new username in the login window, select server and press login. If you have accounts with the same username: type anything to represent another account in the login window, go to server settings and change real username, press login.
Also note that posting to multiple journals works only with accounts listed in the login window, not with communities.
