SecureCRT 6.5 Beta 4 is a Server Utility product from vandyke.com, get 5 Stars SoftSea Rating, SecureCRT combines rock-solid terminal emulation with the powerful encryption, broad range of authentication options, and data integrity of the Secure Shell protocol. The security of your network is critical - it is more important than ever to protect passwords, user accounts, data, and computer systems. SecureCRT provides secure remote access, file transfer, and data tunneling for everyone in your organization.
SecureCRT gives you an encrypted Secure Shell (SSH1 and SSH2) session with servers and devices. For SSH, Telnet, Telnet/SSL, and other protocols, SecureCRT's tabbed sessions reduce desktop clutter and make it easy to switch between sessions and organize groups of connected sessions. Extensive session management and customization features include named sessions, and multiple-session windows. Choose from a wide range of emulations including VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Wyse 50/60, Xterm, and Linux console. SecureCRT can help you save valuable time by automating routine configuration tasks with strong scripting abilities.

SecureCRT delivers new time-saving features including support for moving tabs between windows and a button bar that allows you to map frequently used commands, scripts, and menu functions. An updated user interface provides alpha transparency, Windows display themes, and drag-and-drop customization of the menu and toolbar. Support for installation on U3 smart drives has been added, along with a combined installer for SecureCRT and SecureFX, and MSI support to simplify and automate distribution and installation.

New time saving features:

Move tabs in and out of windows: Send an active tab to a new SecureCRT window, clone a tabbed session in a new window, or drag and drop between SecureCRT windows. This makes it easy to send a tabbed session to a new window, view the output of two sessions at the same time, and then drag the session back in.
Button bar: Map buttons to configuration commands or actions, such as sending strings, running scripts, menu functions, and protocol commands. You can also create different button bars for specific sessions or operations.
Launch external programs: Launch external programs (like your favorite editor, cmd.exe, or regedit) on the local machine through mapped keys and buttons on the button bar, reducing the number of context switches you need to make.
Autoreconnect prompt and countdown in session window: The autoreconnect prompt and countdown are now displayed in the session window instead of in a dialog, allowing connected sessions to be used while a disconnected session is trying to reconnect.
Use environment variables in paths: You can now use environment variables like APPDATA, TEMP, and USERPROFILE in paths specified in SecureCRT global and session options, making it easier to move/copy settings to other machines and to create configurations that will work for multiple users.
Improved user interface:

Support for alpha transparency: Specify the transparency level for the active and inactive windows so that you can view what's behind a SecureCRT window or easily compare the contents of two SecureCRT windows.
New toolbar and menu bar themes: The toolbar and menu bar now use Windows display themes.
Customize the toolbar and menu: New dialog supports dragging and dropping toolbar and menu items so that it's easy to modify the toolbar and menu to suit your needs.
New installer options:

Support for U3 smart drives: When installed to a U3 smart drive using the SecureCRT U3 installer, SecureCRT saves configuration and settings to the U3 drive, making it totally portable.
Combined installer option for SecureCRT and SecureFX: An installer that installs both SecureCRT and SecureFX is now available. Both clients and their shared DLLs are installed into the same folder, making it easy to install SecureFX and SecureCRT and keep them in sync.
MSI installers: MSI support allows you to distribute the applications through your distributions server using Group Policy and to automate installs through SMS or other install programs.

Key Features:
Wide range of terminal emulations: VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Xterm, Wyse 50/60, and Linux console, with support for ANSI color with color schemes in all emulations.
Extensive session management features: Tabbed UI with capability to move tabs in and out of SecureCRT windows and the Activator tray utility minimize desktop clutter. Session settings can be saved in named sessions.
Multi-session launch: Folders and multiple selected sessions can be connected in tabs from the Connect dialog, the command line, or launched at startup in an auto session. Right-clicking on a folder connects the sessions in tabs.
Protocol support: Supports SSH1, SSH2, Telnet, Telnet/SSL, RLogin, Serial, and TAPI protocols.
Secure Shell: Secure Shell encrypted logon and session data, including support for the following:
- Port forwarding secures TCP/IP data
- Password, public-key, keyboard-interactive, X.509, and Kerberos authentication
- AES, Twofish, Blowfish, 3DES, and RC4 ciphers
- X11 forwarding
- Activator support for SSH Agent functionality.

File transfer: Secure file transfers via SFTP, and via Xmodem, Zmodem, and Ymodem when used in conjunction with SSH1 or SSH2.
Integration with SecureFX? file transfer client: SecureCRT and SecureFX can share the global options, session options, and the host key database so you only need to perform operations like setting software defaults, sessions settings, or accepting a server's host key once. SecureCRT and SecureFX can share passwords and passphrases while either software or the Activator utility is running and both SecureCRT and SecureFX sessions are displayed on the Activator menu. Launch either software from a toolbar button and specify a session to connect to. A combined installer is available that installs both clients and their DLLs into the same folder, making it easy to install SecureCRT and SecureFX and keep them in sync.
Configuration: Extensive session and keyboard customization including a button bar which allows you to map buttons to configuration commands or actions, such as sending strings, running scripts, menu functions, and protocol commands. Different button bars can be created for specific sessions or operations.
Powerful printing: Printing support, including pass-through printing.
Scripting support: Scripting language support for VBScript, JScript, and PerlScript. A script recorder automatically creates a VBScript based on keystrokes, including function keys.
FIPS 140-2 support: When an administrative option to run in "FIPS Mode" is set, SecureCRT uses a FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic library and only allows FIPS-approved algorithms. The license of this networking software is Free Trial Software, the price is $99.00, you can free download and get a free trial before you buy. If you want to get a full or nolimited version of SecureCRT, you can buy this networking software.
