Santa's Village East Side
The first thing you will need to do is create an Explorer. Changing the level will affect the play in many of the games. Once that is done you can click Start and will enter the village where ther are many things to be clicked on.
The Sleigh Workshop will bring you to the Night Before Christmas activity. Here you have to help Santa launch his sleigh through the magic star portal and then deliver the gifts around the world by remembering the order of continents and countries. Oh Christmas Tree plays bells and you have to play them in the same order with a new bell added at the end of each round. Click on the coral to play Reindeer Match'em Up where you will match 8 lively reindeer figures in a memory game.
Clicking on the snowman deliver's a special surprise as well. Whenever you want you can click on the green right arrow to scroll to the west side of the village. The entire game has also been designed with the new touch screen PCs in mind and can be played purely by touch without using the mouse if desired.
Santa's Village West Side
The toys building will take you to the Santa's Workshop activity. There you get color toys the same as the instructions. The building in the lower left is Santa's house. By clicking here you get to Santa's List which has your young ones matching names that have the same first letter or containing the letters shown.
You can also click on the train station to hear a nice train whistle and restart the train if it is stopped. Click on the polar bear in the auditorium and you get to play a polar bear piano.
The village has original new music by Dennis DenHartog from Folknotes.com playing in the background. These dulcimer and banjo folk music renditions of classic Christmas songs are something you and the family can enjoy singing to in front of a nice warm screen! Hot chocolate and Indiana come to mind for me.
By the way, if you want to play Santa's Village on the go, there is a version of Santa's Village for the iPhone that you can read about here.
Santa's Workshop
The elves are really starting to fall behind and need your help to finish all of the toys in time for Christmas. Paint the toys with the same colors as shown on the sample toy in the lower right.
Select a color by dipping the paintbursh in the color on the color picker. The color will be announced so you quickly learn the color names. Then click on the parts of the toy to match the sample. When finished pull on the lever. If everything is correct you will get a new toy to complete. If not you have to figure out what is missing to get it right.
