XP) program that can be used as an audio sample cataloguer or a file explorer dedicatedto audio samples. The program is a kind of database software which holds the structure of your personnal sample collection (wac, aiff, flac, mp3, midi file) in a explorer-style view. Each item can be described by a custom set of 255 'tags'. The collection can be consulted using a logical tag filtering system or a string search system. All data are saved in an external file, SampleTagger never directly write data in the sample file. Additionaly, three virtual folders allow to putsome items together which could be droped into an audio program (main sequencer, virtual synth,virtual sampler etc).
SampleTagger can be used as a serious sample cataloguer as well as a simple file explorer.Even if tags are not edited items can be retrieved by their names ,their paths etc. Audio preview and sample droping works on each audio format, from each view.The software can be put in background task and hidden in the tray.In this mode it wont use
much system memory.
Various settings allow to change the behaviour of the application.For example when 'no infos' is checked the program won't scan sample informations and the listing of a folder content is extremely fast (no disk access at all), much more that any file explorer. Finding particular items with this option is as fast for the same reason.
