One of the important features in Private Encryptor is the ability to generate Self Decrypting Executables. A Self Decrypting Executable (or SDX, for short) allows us to turn encrypted files into executables, which allows for fast and easy decryption. An SDX can also be used to decrypt e-mails that have been encrypted with Private Encryptor's e-mail encryption. The key thing to remember is that we do not need to have Private Encryptor installed in order to decrypt an SDX or use it for e-mail decryption! An SDX is capable of decrypting itself. Explorer Context Menu is a new function of Private Encryptor. With it, we can Encrypt, Decrypt, Shred Files and Folders right from the Windows Explorer and the Desktop. Simply right click our mouse on the desired item and we'll find the added menu commands. With Private Encryptor we can now compress files when encrypting. This results in smaller encrypted files and even better security!

With Private Encryptor we can hide encrypted information within a picture file such as a .GIF or .JPG.. The encrypted file then appears to be nothing more than a simple picture that can be viewed in an image viewer, but it is really an encrypted file, and the information contained within it can be recovered by decrypting the file in the normal way. The intent is to create the illusion that the file in question is not encrypted at all, which makes it harder for hackers to get into our data.
