It uses peer-to-peer technology to exchange the files. This means you do not need a server to host the files. Every client holds a local copy of the folder. PowerFolder manages files in in virtual folders called PowerFolders. Each connected computer syncs the files to/from a local directory.
To grant other computers or users access to a PowerFolder simply send an secret invitation file by email containing a secret access key.
Sync profiles control how and when the local directory is synced with the remote computers, e.g. automatic mirror, backup or manual sync.
