Panoply
|
Panoply is a cross-platform software which plots geo-gridded arrays from netCDF, HDF and GRIB datasets. Panoply is an utility that enable user to plot raster image. Depending on the data, it can draw global longitude-latitude images or pole-to-pole latitude-vertical images.
Panoply is a data visualization application, designed for the display of gridded climatology, meteorology, oceanography, and other Earth science data saved in either netCDF (Network Common Data Form), HDF (Hierarchical
Data Format) and GRIB (GRIdded Binary) files and that have been tagged with appropriate metadata. Panoply plots two-dimensional arrays of data, which can be "sliced" from variables which have more than two dimensions. It can:
Plot longitude-latitude arrays as global or regional maps, using any of over 80 map projections. Maps can be overlaid with continent outlines or masks.
* Plot zonal average curves of longitude-latitude data.
* Plot latitude-vertical arrays.
* Plot time-latitude arrays, i.e., make keograms.
Panoply can also combine two arrays of data by differencing, by averaging, or by treating them as vector components. More than 40 color tables are provided for use in the plot scale to represent data values. Alternative color tables may also be applied if they are in one of several widely used formats. Plot images may be saved to disk as GIF, JPEG, PNG or TIFF bitmap images or as PDF or PostScript graphics files. Longitude-latitude map plots may be exported as KMZ files.
You can:
1. Slice and plot specific latitude-longitude, latitude-vertical, or time-latitude arrays from larger multidimensional variables.
2. Combine two arrays in one plot by differencing, summing or averaging.
3. Plot lon-lat data on a global or regional map (using any of over 75 map projections) or make a zonal average lineplot.
4. Overlay continent outlines or masks on lon-lat plots.
5. Use any ACT, CPT, GGR, or PAL color table for scale colorbar.
6. Save plots to disk GIF, JPEG, PNG or TIFF bitmap images or as PDF or PostScript graphics files.
7. Export lon-lat map plots in KMZ format.
The Windows version of Panoply comes as a ZIP archive. After it is downloaded, you must drag the PanoplyWin folder out of the ZIP archive and into your preferred applications folder. The Panoply for Windows folder includes a subfolder called jars, which includes Panoply.jar and several other Java code "jar" files.
SoftSea.com had fully tested and uploaded the install files, Panoply does not contain any adware or spyware, the latest version is 3.1 Build BBU1, you can download this software (10.52 MB) from special server of SoftSea.com.
The license of this software is Freeware, you can free download and free use this 3d graphic software.
