Multipad is a very small text editor which makes it easier to type diacritics.
A diacritic mark is a mark added to a basic letter. Examples of diacritics are umlaut (¨), grave accent (`) and circumflex (^). Diacritics are used in languages such as Dutch, French and Italian.
Multipad is a basic text editor which makes it easy for the user to type diacritics. For example, if you want to type the french word "été", in Multipad, you type ‘e’, ‘/’, ‘t’, ‘e’, ‘/’. The characters ‘e’ and ‘/’ are replaced by the character ‘é’. If you dont want the program to replace these characters, you can turn off Diacritics Input Mode by pressing the F4 key. The table below gives an overview of the standard character combinations.

If you dont like a certain character combination, you can change it in the configuration file multipad.exe.config:
"Value" contains the character combinations. Each combination consists of 3 symbols: the first character, the second character and the resulting character. If you dont need a certain combination, you can simply delete it (be sure to remove all 3 symbols!).
