Mind mapping is a simple technique for drawing information in diagrams, instead of writing it in sentences. The diagrams always take the same basic format of a tree, with a single starting point in the middle that branches out, and divides again and again. The tree is made up of words or short sentences connected by lines. The lines that connect the words are part of the meaning.

With Mindomo you will be able to:
1. Manage and retain the information more efficiently
2. Communicate the information more effectively
3. Enhance thinking and learning
4. Recognize trends, clusters, and other patterns in the information gathered
5. Synthesize disparate pieces of information into new knowledge

Collecting information
Firs you need to define the central concept you want to gather information about, then you should add the main ideas to the central subject.
After this you may extend your map by:
1. Brainstorming concepts related to the central subject and main ideas
2. Collecting information from websites
3. Inserting links to files, folders, images or web links
4. Inserting thumbnails
5. Adding rich text notes to your concepts
6. Defining tasks

Organizing the collected information
Organized information is much easier to remember than unorganised information. To organize the collected information you should:
1. Establish a hierarchy of importance among the concepts
2. Use the hierarchy to structure relations among concepts
3. Change or define the properties of collected information (title, description, thumbnail, priority, start and end date, responsible person, etc.)
4. Link files, folders, web links and commands to the mind map
5. Search the mind map for specific information
6. Change the visual appearance of the mind map elements

Sharing the organized information
Once you collected and organized your information, you will want to share it with others. Mindomo tightly integrates with all major office tools available today. You will be able to:
1. Export to MS Word
2. Export to MS PowerPoint
3. Export as HTML
4. Export to PDF
5. Export as Website
6. Save your map as image (JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, etc.)
7. Export to Java Web-Map
8. Zip your map and the linked documents (files, directories)
9. Send your maps by e-mail

Representing knowledge in the visual format of an Mindomo Map allows one to gain an overview of a domain of knowledge. Because the nodes contain only a keyword or a short sentence, more interpretation is required of the reader, but this will be positive.
