MinT portable is a very small text processing application. Typically you have to write a letter or a text which range is not comparable to a book project. So in the majority of cases you will not need any oversized office package.

Especially on older systems and Netbooks it may be difficult to install those office packages with extensive system requirements.
MinT portable provides a set of features to format your text.You can use different fonts, font-sizes, font-attributes, every paragraph can have another alignment. You can use font colors, background colors, unordered and ordered lists etc.

MinT portable uses the .RTF (richtext) format which can be used with Word or other word processing program as well. You can also use MinT portable as a simple text editor to save plain text. But in plain text mode (like Notepad) you will loose the formatting features as described above.
