imago provides an intuitive way to view, organize, and analyze your scientific images on your computer. As you get started, there are three things you should always remember:

1. imago copies your images into imagoAlbums.
When you import images using imago, it copies your images from the folder and stores it in imagoAlbums. When you move or delete the images from your hard disks, imago keeps its own copies.

2. Your originally imported images are always preserved.
When using effect or analysis tools in imago, your original files are never modified. All changes made in an image are recorded while preserving its original image throughout the process. The changes you make can only be viewed in imago until you export or save the image with its changes.

3. A resized image is displayed for a large image.
For better performance, imago resizes the image if its pixel size is larger than 5120 x 5120 pixels. The resized image can be only viewed in imago and the original image can be exported any time.
