Lightslayer is a first person action role-playing game. A dark elven sorceress is missing, and her apprentice - you - will need to find her. Your quest will take you through forests and mountains, through deserts of burning sands and deserts of eternal ice, through swamps and cities. Ultimately the fate of two worlds depends on you, for you are the Chosen, you are the Fated, you are the Lightslayer!
For five years you were apprenticed to the sorceress Calesstra when your apprenticeship was cut short. Never will you forget that fateful night, for it changed your life.
You were studying a particularily difficult spell when you felt a sudden surge of magical energy. You turned around and a flash of white light blinded you. When your eyes had recovered, Calesstra was gone.
You set out to find her, never guessing that your search would take you far beyond your world, through forests and mountains, through deserts of burning sand and deserts of eternal ice, through cities and swamps. Lightslayer is an action role-playing game played in first person perspective. As a dark elven sorceress, you travel through a vast world, fighting monsters and completing quests in the search for your missing mentor.
Starting with version 2.0 (released 25 Jun 2005), Lightslayer is free! This release also changes a lot of the underlying technology, and is the first version of Lightslayer to be ported to the Macintosh platform.
Lightslayer version 2.1 (released 04 Jul 2005) fixes a couple of bugs that crept into Lightslayer 2.0. If you are running Lightslayer 2.0 or earlier, it is recomended that you upgrade to version 2.1.
Lightslayer version 2.2 (released 09 Dec 2005) fixes the Macintosh distribution in particular. If you previously had trouble running Lightslayer on a Macintosh computer, I powerfully recommend upgrading.
