ImageGrab can extract images from all kind of videos avi, mpeg, wmv, live video streams, not encrypted DVDs and many others. It can open all kind of video files, SVCD or VCD, Live streams and lets you choose an image to save on a a drive in format bmp or jpg. The jpeg-quality is adjustable. You may even copy it in the clipboard, in order to use it in your favorite application.

This application is heavily using directshow filters (directX video functions). So be sure to have directshow filters (also known as codecs) correctly installed for the videos which you want to operate.

There is no need of an installation, just launch the exe-file. Nothing is copied onto the hard-disks or to the register at start. So uninstall it just by deleting the exe-file. If you saved the preferences (either to the registry or an ini-file, delete the prefernces before deleting the exe-file - see in F10, panel "preferences").

ImageGrab Features:
1. It can save the preferences in order to find them at next start of the program.
2. Building file names by adding numbers is possible with any number of digits.
3. The command line switches are now very powerful, and even integrated in the Windows interface
4. It can open the source or dest folders with a click
5. There are more keyboard shortcuts and they are listed in the Settings panel
6. Volume of sound can be adjusted

ImageGrab is indeed mainly aimed at extracting images from videos. It try to make this operation easy, precise and efficient. Generally, it works with three simple steps:
1. Load a video, from various types or files with extension avi, mpeg, mpg, wmv, mts, m2ts, ts, vob, m1v, mp2, mpe, asf, mkv, mov, mp4, 3g2, m4v and perhaps others.

2. ImageGrab includes a video player that can browse frame by frame to a given position in the video (depending on the video) . The player can display in full screen, and can thus be used as a good alternative mediaplayer.

3. When the desired video's position is reached, a simple click (or the function key F5) captures a snapshot from the current picture.

ImageGrab has also an intervalometer feature, that helps extract automatically a lot of pictures at given intervals. A "script" mode is available to apply the power of ImageGrab to a lot of pictures at once.
Text may be inlayed in the snapshot, using various data from the video: timestamp, tank of the snapshot, datecode or timecode if it's a DV video.
ImageGrab is heavily using directshow filters (directX video functions). So be sure to have directshow filters (also known as codecs) correctly installed for the videos which you want to operate.
