Image2Icon is a Firefox addon, can convert any image to standard icon sizes. Useful for making favicon, avatar etc. Also allows viewing/saving the favicon of websites.
If you wish to resize an image to a standard size to use it as favicon, or more importantly, if you wish to convert an image to a "data:image/png;base64..." type of data URI for use with an tag on your web page, this addon will come in convenient! No more need to search online for a service to do that, you could do it directly in Firefox to any image, local or on the web! Just right click on the image and select the size you want.
Occasionally if you would like to know the URL of the favicon of a website, Image2Icon will help you through context menu as well.
