IMDB Movie Explorer scans a given directory of movies, tries to match the filename to the movie, and displays basic IMDB information such as rating. Movies can then be selected and copied to another directory.

IMDB Movie Explorer is a useful and portable tool that lists all movies, descriptions, and their IMDB ratings. You can then choose to copy movies which have higher ratings rather than filling up your hard disk with all the sub-standard movies.

From Author: Someone handed me a drive with 500 (legally obtained) movies. Luckily the filenames typically matched the title of the film. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice if someone could write a program to look up the ratings on IMDB and allow me to copy only movies with a 6+ rating. Then I said self, you could write that program. A lunchtime and a bit in the evening later and here it is. First I found IMDB web services here on codeplex. Then it was just a matter of reading the files, looking them up, and copying them. It is dog slow, but does the job.
