Free Barcode Reader is a useful barcode scanner and viewer, allows you to read barcodes with your webcam in the same way like you would do it with hardware laser scanner. It reads barcodes directly from webcam or from still image stored on your drive.

If your barcodes are not read, in most cases the reason is one of the following:
Focus distance of the camera set above 4 inch.
1. check camera focus range in the camera specification. if camera does not support focus below 11 cm ( 4 in.), try other camera.
2. adjuct camera focus.

Low light condition:
* Add light sources or try camera with nigth vision feature.
