Fraction calculations made easy. FractionCalc java Applet/Application is a calculator that may be used to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on two given input fractions. The calculator not only gives the results of the operation, but also a graphical representation of the results.

The FractionCalc, Fraction Calculator, initially was derived from the, NA_WorkSheet project. That project needed to compute fractional values in a least degenerative accuracy way over an infinite polynomial sequence for Gaussian Quadrature. The Fraction calculator was a demo GUI to test the class, Rational, for these fractions. The updated GUI for the Rational class, FractionCalc, now consists of a graphics aspect, in the form of pies to represent the fractions.

The FractionCalc software is a Java based software and does require the JRE, to be installed. The minimum runtime environment needs to be JRE-1.4. In the installation directory are two scripts one for Windows systems, fractioncalc.bat, and one for linux, fractioncalc.sh. Both of these scripts just execute the command "java -jar FractionCalc.jar".
