The main software file is floatsync.jar, which is an executable jar file. It can be put in any directory on your computer and run directly from there. Alternatively, you can invoke the software from the command line / console by the following command: java -jar floatsync.jar.
The directory where floatsync.jar resides is preferably (though not required) editable, so that the software can save some user settings.
Once the software is started, you'll see a window with two area to select the iTunes library file and the directory to sync your media and playlists to.
