Find Password Protected Documents (FPPD) searches for password protected files on your computer. Current version analyzes Word, Excel documents, Access databases, Outlook PST files, PowerPoint, MS Money, OneNote files and Zip archives (Office 2007 is also supported). If you have our password recovery software installed in your system, you can recover found password-protected documents. Demo version limited by three found password-protected documents.

Find Password Protected Documents generates reports and could be used for a forensic computer examination. If you have our password recovery software installed in your system, you can recover found password-protected documents.

Please Notes:
1. Current version analyzes documents for password to open only.
2. FPPD does not analyze self-extracting archives (EXE files).
3. FPPD does not analyze documents contained inside of archives.
4. FPPD considers .mdw files (Access system databases) as password protected (usually these files contain Access user password)
5. FPPD keeps unchanged Last Accessed Date/Time for all analyzed documents.

8. one - OneNote (including 2007 and 2010 versions)

10. ppt, *.pot, *.pos - Old PowerPoint (2003 and earlier)

FPPD displays results in a table that contains a couple of columns with various useful information. You can sort the results by clicking on column heading. You can export results into the plain text, CSV, HTML or XML. You can copy the document list onto the clipboard. Then you can either paste the list as a plain text in any text editor, or paste the list in Windows Explorer (all report files will be copied into the current folder).

Command Line Version
A command-line version, it is named FindProtectedCmd.exe and located in the installation folder. You can use the command-line version as follows:

FindProtectedCmd [/o<fn>] [/ftext|html|csv|xml] [/r] [/txxx] inpath [inpath2 [...]]
/o - set output file name. If this parameter is omitted, report will be written to the stdio
/r - scan subfolders as well. BY DEFAULT IT IS TURNED OFF!
/fxxx - choose output report format: text (default), html, csv or xml
/txxx - choose document types to scan. If no /t parameter is given, the program will scan all supported document types
inpath - one or several folders to scan. You can use $mydoc for My Documents and $alldrives to scan all local disks
