Dup Detector can Find and delete duplicate and near duplicate images from your image collections. Most large image collections, whether your own or stock collections, often have duplicate images under different names, or sometimes multiple slightly modified images together in the same collection. DupDetector is the ideal tool to find and remove them. It reads 10 image file formats: JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF (non-LZW compressed), PCX, TGA, WMF, EMF, and PSD (compacted).

Images are compared as pairs from their pixel data. It was designed for and works best with photo type images. It does not work well with iconic cartoon like images or with images of text or line drawings etc. It compares one full image against another. It does not use pattern matching, meaning it will not be good at matching a small cropped image with its original source image.

Select the method, then build the datafile for the image collection, find the dups (duplicates), and then view the matching pairs and delete those you choose.
