Contour 3D is state of the art program that brings you, your computer and your GPS/Fishfinder together in a unique and innovative way.

Make a few passes in a favorite fishing spot and watch the bottom contours and structure reveal itself on your screen in high detail. Contour 3D collects data, makes maps and lets you navigate those maps, all in one automated, seamless application. It runs on portable and desktop PC's with XP, Vista and 7.

Contour 3D allows your laptop to listen through a USB or serial cable to most GPS/Fish Finder combos and/or up to 4 NMEA 0183 capable devices to create your own color 2D and *3D contour maps of depth, altitude or temperature for your desired location.

By recording the GPS coordinates and depth/altitude/temperature at 1 second intervals, the data is used to automatically and continuously construct a highly detailed, color visualization of the contours.

Just drive back and forth, or make a grid pattern, or a spiral, whatever. Just drive around where yo want more detail. The more detail you want, the closer the passes should be in that area. Passes 25 to 200 feet apart is typical.

All data is saved as you go. Change colors, and other drawing settings any time to see different results.

While recording points, instantly mark a spot with customizable markers such as stumps, ledges, weeds, crab traps, etc.

The contours can then be printed in high color detail, uploaded** to your GPS unit, navigated on screen, etc. Maps are also generated in a postscript format enabling you to make blow-ups of any size with no loss of quality and detail.

Contour3D is not a new, cool piece of electronic equipment. Though you may load navigational maps, it is not typical mapping program you may have seen. Though we may start providing preloaded maps, it doesn't come with maps other than some samples. Because the only way to read from most devices is with the NMEA protocol, it does not have access to any "raw" sonar data, just the depth, position, temperature, etc. at 1 or 2 second intervals.
