CedarSync is a real-time collaborative text editor. The text editor allows for the opening and saving of either plain-text or formatted text. It also includes a chat window to allow for a chat discussion to go on while editing a shared document.

Upon starting the program, you will first need to designate a server to host the file. That use will select "Setup New Connection" from the "Connect" menu. You will then be prompted to enter a port number and screen name to use. On the client end, you will then need to select "Remote Connect" from the "Connect" menu. You will be prompted for the server name or IP address, the server port number, and the screen name to use. At this point you should be connected. Note that your firewall may have to be configured for this program to work properly.
