DNA sequence analysis and plasmid drawing software for Windows PCs. BVTech Plasmid is DNA sequence analysis and plasmid drawing software for Windows PCs. You can use it to plan your DNA cloning, draw high quality plasmid maps, analyse your DNA sequencing data, align sequences, and much more. BVTech Plasmid is easy to use, powerful, and affordable for molecular biologists at any level.

You can label the plasmid with genes and restriction sites in different colors, text, and styles. BVTech Plasmid provides many drawing objects, includs lines, arrows, rectangles, circles, and text boxes. Drawing objects can be used for general annotation or to add extra labels to a map.

BVTech Plasmid Features:
1. Automatically generate map based on DNA sequence. BVTech Plasmid supports the following sequence formats: Plain sequence , EMBL, FASTA, GCG, GenBank, and IG format. Screen Shot.
2. Sequence Feature Viewer - display features of the sequence, search oligonucleotides, and select/copy features. Screen Shot.
3. Export sequence in various formats, including EMBL, GeneBank, FASTA, IG, and PLAIN with options of upper/lower case, reverse compliment, and more... Screen Shot.
4. Sequence Align - compare the sequence with another sequence. BVTech Plasmid uses Needleman-Wunsch algorithm to align sequences. Screen Shot.
5. Perform virtual restriction digests with one or two restriction enzymes on an input sequence, and automatically generate a restriction map. The map can show the results of digests with various enzymes on a sequence with or without inserted subclone sequence. Click here to view a sample of restriction map.
6. Allows to view both .ab1 and .scf chromat file formats and edit the sequence based on peaks and the aligned sequence. You can do the followings in the Chromatogram page: a) Import sequence files (ABI or SCF). b) Edit bases based on peaks or the aligned sequence. c) Assemble contigs or export or translate sequence. d) When you save the document of the plasmid map, all input chromatogram data are also saved.
7. Translation and Calculation - You can translate the whole plasmid sequence or the sequence of a feature. In translation, the software will search for all possible ORFs in the sequence and the complement sequence. The software can calculate Tm, MW, and GC% for a selected feature. The nearest neighbor method with empirically determined thermodynamic values is used to determine the melting temperature (Tm) of the sequence (when its length is less than 300 bp).
8. Multilingual Support - In this version, Unicode characters are used to store and retrieve data and therefore allows to input data and display data in various languages such as Greek, Russian, Chinese, Japaness, English... .
9. Allows to insert/delete subclone into the plasmid, and updating the plasmid map correspondingly.
10. Plasmid map can be highly customized. You can arrange multiple maps on a page, in linear or circular formats. Each map can be moved, resized, scaled, grouped and colored. To modify a plasmid map, you can use the Plasmid Graphics Wizard, the Plasmid Drawing Tools, Context Menus, and Drag/Drop.
11. You can save your works on a document or a picture file (BMP). BVTech Plasmid supports multiple document interface (MDI) just like Microsoft Word. You can also print your plasmid map anytime.
12. Fragments can be added to a map to represent features such as genes, motifs, or subcloned fragments. This differs from inserting fragments, which is used to simulate cloning experiments and does alter the size and sequence of the map. Similarly, Removing fragments will not change the size of the map, while deleting fragments will reduce the size of the map.
13. You can customize a fragment's properties, such as its color, width, and direction, and change its position relative to the map.
14. Enzyme Markers can be added to the map to represent a restriction site at a particular location. You can customize a marker's properties, such as its font, text, color, position on the page, and whether to show its location in parentheses.
15. If you have input a DNA sequence, BVTech Plasmid will be able to find restriction sites for you.
16. BVTech Plasmid provides many drawing objects, includs lines, arrows, rectangles, circles, and text boxes. Drawing objects can be used for general annotation or to add extra labels to a map.
