Automatic replacement of standard Notepad:
If you use the BDV Notepad you do not need to remove the standard Windows Notepad. Our software can be easily integrated in Windows as the default editor for any kinds of files. To do so, launch the BDV Notepad, open the Settings panel, and proceed to the Associations tab. Here you can select file types for opening with BDV Notepad instead of a standard Windows Notepad.
But if you definitely want to replace your Notepad with improved BDV Notepad, do the following easy steps:
Restart your computer in a Safe Mode (only if you use Windows 2000/XP);
Find the file Notepad.exe in a Windows folder (usually C:\Windows), and rename it - you may need it later;
Copy all needed files of the BDV Notepad in a Windows folder (e.g. Notepad.exe, English.lng, Deutsch.lng, KOI8R.cp);
Restart your computer in a Normal Mode.
After this simple procedure all text files will be opened in our Notepad replacement instead of a standard Windows Notepad.
