You can choose to type your own MAC address or use a randomly generated one from a list of manufacturers that is supplied via an IEEE OUI database which can be updated over the Internet. The new MAC address is applied after you reboot your system. AnonyMac keeps track of your original MAC address and allows you to restore it at any time.
While not a common occurance, sometimes it's convenient to be able to change you MAC address - whether it's simply to test something or to force a router to re-issue you a new IP - and that's where this utility comes into play. AnalogX AnonyMac allows you to quickly see all of your network connections, what MAC is currently assigned to them, and then change them to a totally new one.
