Will read hard disks' SMART health and performance status. Aeo3 HD Smart Lite is a portable program utility that retrieves hard disk drives' health, performance and operation status. This set of information is known as the hard disk drive's Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (or S.M.A.R.T.) data.
Hard disks failure is a certainty and can be a traumatic experience. All drives will gradually degrade over time. However sudden catastrophic failure does happen in the first few months of a new hard disk.
This program was developed with the aim of quickly informing the user of the conditions of their hard disks. With this information, the user can manually backup their valuable data before drive failure occurs.
This program can detect and retrieves information such as Internal Temperature, Power-On Hours, Read-Error Rate, Reallocated Sectors, Uncorrectable Errors and more.
Aeo3 HD Smart Lite Features:
1. Reads Hard Disk's Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (or S.M.A.R.T.) data
2. Detects Hard Disk's Model, Serial Number, Firmware, Size, Partitions and Operation Status
3. List available SMART Attributes and values for each hard disk drives
4. Shows SMART Threshold, Worst, Standard and RAW Hexadecimal values
5. Convert relevant Raw Hexadecimal to Decimal values for easy understanding
6. Detects IDE, SATA, SCSI and independent Hard Disk Controllers
7. Retrieves Hard Disk Controllers' Operation Status
8. Regards Low Operational Temperature as a potential danger

About Read/Scan Error Rate (Lower is Better)
1. Seagate Hard Disks log "Raw" Read Error Rate - before any internal Error-Correcting Code (ECC) has been implemented. This is a different approach when compared to other companies.
2. Users with Seagate Hard Disks should cross reference "Read Error Rate" with "Hardware ECC Recovered". Usually these two S.M.A.R.T. attributes are equal, meaning all errors were caught and corrected by the hard disk's error correction system.
3. Manufacturers like Western Digital logs errors after ECC has been applied - giving you actual errors that cannot be corrected by the hard disk. Therefore on Western Digital hard disks, "Read Error Rate" is an indicator of REAL errors.
Aeo3 HD Smart Lite was designed to be simple and easy. I developed this tool primarily for myself. A few computer technicians have since been using this software in their department and company as part of their computer maintenance routine.
The followings are the primary objectives for Aeo3 HD Smart Lite.
1. Quick access of Hard Disk Drive's complete S.M.A.R.T. Data
2. Check Drive's Temperature, maintains in a healthy zone to avoid Bad Sector occurrence
3. Allow detection of drive errors (Read Error Rate) and bad sectors (Reallocated Sector Count)
4. Check the Drive's Operational Hours and swap out those that exceed 26280 hours (or 3 years)
5. Buying a new drive but not sure it's genuinely new? Check the drives Power-On Hours.
