AMD N-Bench is a benchmark software that will measure the performance of your computer. Measurement is performed by "CPU Benchmark" which measures CPU performances, such as integer operation and a floating point arithmetic, and "3D Benchmark" which used the real-time display performance of 3D graphics as the base. The measurement results are displayed as the numerical values that comprise the "N-Bench Scores".

AMD N-Bench is a hardware testing software capable of investigating CPU performance and displaying 3D graphics results. AMD N-Bench consists of a "Demo mode" that plays back beautiful 3DCG movies and a "Benchmark mode" that measures CPU performance.

Features:
* New 3DCG engine based on Microsoft DirectX 9.0 technology.
* All 3DCG, music, and special effects are renewed.
* "Speed Bench",measure the time to complete the task.
* Corresponds to 3DNow! Professional technology and SSE2 instruction of the Intel Pentium 4.
* 4 CPU benchmark test which is not influenced by the graphic performance.
* 4 3D benchmark test which work on XGA.

Requirements:
Working Environment:
* Computer equipped with the 1GHz AMD Athlon processor or 1GHz Intel Pentium III processor or outstandinger
* Microsoft Windows XP
* Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or later (required)
* Free 128MB RAM or more (required)
* Color Display with 1024*768 pixels (required)

AMD N-BENCH3 - Help
* Main Panel
In addition to running the Benchmark or Demo mode, the Main Panel allows you to set software options and other main operations and settings. It also lets you check the CPU, memory, and video card information of the computer you are currently using.
* Web Page
If PC is connected to the Internet, this button will show the newest information page about N-Bench.
* Demo Setting
This panel contains the various options needed to run Demo mode.
* Continuous Loop
If this option is turned on, loop playback is activated and N-Bench will play back the Demo continuously. Pressing the "Esc" or "F12" key on the keyboard while loop playback is in progress will stop the Demo and restore the Main Panel screen.
* BGM Enable
If this option is turned on, N-Bench will play back BGM and sound effects. You must have a sound card, speakers, and other equipment for BGM and other audio playback.
* Protect Mode
This option sets a special combination of keys that allows the user to temporarily stop the Demo. If this option is turned on, the Demo will stop when the "Alt" and "F4" keys are simultaneously pressed. This option is mainly used for store demonstration purposes.
* Auto Demo
If this option is turned on, Demo mode will automatically be executed if there is no keyboard, mouse, or other input for 3 minutes while N-Bench is running.
* Cinema Screen
Displays demo in cinema screen size.
* Vertex Shaders
This option changes over the video card display function. If "Force Software"option is turned on, the vertex processing function of a video card will not be used but will process by software(CPU).
* Display Setting
This sets the monitor resolution and display colors for full-screen display of the Demo mode.
* Benchmark Setting
This panel contains the Benchmark test settings.

Options
* Continuous Loop
If this option is turned on, loop playback is activated and the Benchmark test(s) will be played back continuously. This option is mainly used to repeat the same Benchmark test or for store demonstration purposes.
* BGM Enable
This option plays back BGM while a Benchmark test is in progress. Turn this option off when you want to obtain accurate test results.
* Protect Mode
This option sets a special combination of keys that allows the user to temporarily stop the Benchmark. If this option is turned on, the Benchmark will stop when the "Alt" and "F4" keys are simultaneously pressed. This option is mainly used for store demonstration purposes.
* Challenge Mode
If this option is turned on, the software will stop whenever the Benchmark test results are displayed on-screen. To proceed to the next test, click when "Click To Next" is shown at the bottom right portion of the screen. This will start the next Benchmark test. If this option is turned off, the next Benchmark test will start automatically.
* CPU Benchmark Tests
This option can change ON/OFF of four CPU Benchmark tests. Moreover, the check box of each benchmark is used for changing their ON/OFF. The test turned OFF is not performed by the benchmark test. In order to obtain an Overall Score, however, all the tests must be executed.
3D Benchmark Tests
* This option can change ON/OFF of four 3D Benchmark tests. Moreover, the check box of each benchmark is used for changing their ON/OFF. In order to perform a benchmark test, at least one of eight tests needs to be turned on .
* Benchmark Results
This option displays the Benchmark test results. The results are displayed numerically (N-Bench Score), and in the form of a bar graph that shows relative values. There is also a blue bar graph that represents the N-Bench Score of a standard configured PC (The 1GHz AMD AthlonTM processor with nVIDIA GeForce2 GTS GPU, 32MB VRAM). Benchmark tests that are not executed are indicated by "n/a" in place of a N-Bench Score.

"Save File" Button
This option saves the Benchmark test results as a text file. The default filename is "N-Bench3.txt".

About the N-Bench Score
There are two steps in calculation of N-Bench Score. First of all, a primary score is computed with an individual benchmark. In CPU Benchmark, it is obtained from integer operation or floating point arithmetic performance, and in 3D Benchmark, it is obtained from the average of fps values. Then compare with the primary score of standard configured PC, N-Bench Score is computed with a ratio. If both primary scores are totally the same, N-Bench Score is displayed as 1000. With "Force Software", moreover, Benchmark mode will display 3D graphics because CPU performance is given priority over video card performance.

About the Overall Score
The Overall Score is an average of the individual N-Bench Scores.
